There is a possibility that the first small tulips come above the ground, often these are small garden tulips. What can be seen during this period are hyacinths, crocuses, and daffodils. Blooming yellow fields can be seen, but also the blue hyacinths, often with the pink variant. This is a special color, as this color is not seen in the tulips.
The tulip fields bloom from early April to mid-May. We always say come around the end of April, as that's when most tulip fields are in bloom. It also depends on the weather when the fields start to bloom. If we have a long winter, the tulips only start to come out of the ground late, and some tulips only bloom in mid-April. Fortunately, during our tour, we always have certainty of tulip blooms.
Tulip fields bloom all over the Netherlands. The most famous places are South Holland and North Holland. We also say the south of Amsterdam and the north of Amsterdam. The south are the tulip fields of Keukenhof (the largest tulip park in the world) and the north are the Tulip Fields of Tulip Tours Holland (the tour to the most beautiful and largest tulip fields in the Netherlands).
In the Netherlands, it is possible to use a drone in some places. Pay attention near the airport; here it is strictly forbidden. You also need a permit to fly a drone in the Netherlands. During our tour, the use of a drone is also possible.

Yes, that is possible, but then you need permission from the tulip farmer. We have made arrangements to enter and admire the fields. Do not enter the field without permission. Be careful with the tulips that bloom; this is the income of the tulip farmer and you may not take or damage them.
This is almost not possible. Many stations are in the cities and not close to the tulip fields. Therefore, book a tour or a guide, or rent a car. You can then drive the tulip route, a beautiful route with many fields in the Flevopolder.
You can go to the tulip fields in different ways, by tour such as our beautiful tour 'the Tulip Tour of Holland' or with many private tours found at various providers in Amsterdam. By train often does not work, the fields are often remote and not accessible to everyone. Always go to the fields with a company or guide and get permission from the tulip farmers.
Tulips
The hyacinths bloom from the 3rd week of March. Did you know that some pink hyacinths smell very nice? You can smell the hyacinths from kilometers away. The three colors are blue, pink, and white. We find them very special because blue tulips don't exists. The hyacinths bloom in the north of the Netherlands and close to the Keukenhof. There are only a few places where they are grown, often along the coastline because hyacinths grow well in sandy areas.
The daffodils bloom at the beginning of March. This beautiful yellow flower makes everyone happy, because it reminds us string is around the corner. During this period, many fields in the north of the Netherlands turn yellow. Daffodils are mostly yellow but you can also find white daffodils. Daffodils flowers can also be found in the area near the Keukenhof.
Most tulips bloom in the north of Amsterdam, which is where we go with the tulip tour. We believe this to be the most beautiful tulip area, but it's also the closest to Amsterdam. Just 30 minutes from Amsterdam, you can find the first tulip field. You need to know exactly where the fields are because it is not easy to find. Most people go to the fields in Lisse, the largest tulip park in the world. Lisse is south of Amsterdam and a 50-minute drive from the city centre.
In short, it's done because growers don't need the flowers, but the bulbs in the ground. When the flowers bloom, they are fully grown and most of the diseased tulips have been removed. From that moment on, the energy of the plant must go back to the bulb to ensure that the tulip bulb will grow.
The most popular flowers blooming are daffodils and hyacinths, but you can also admire grape hyacinths or snowdrops. Crocuses are also a beautiful sight; a field then turns completely purple. March is a beautiful start of the spring in the Netherlands. The entire countryside turns yellow, white, pink, purple and blue.
