Tulip Festival 2026 Begins at the End of March
We are excited to announce that our tours will start earlier this year, beginning on March 26th, 2026. While the Netherlands is famous for its tulips, it also features fields of colorful hyacinths and daffodils. Did you know that hyacinths can be blue? Unfortunately, tulips do not come in blue!

What Flowers Bloom Early in Spring?
Did you know that many unique and beautiful flowers bloom early in spring in the Netherlands? We travel to the northern part of North Holland, where you'll find far more flower varieties than just tulips. Over 2,000 hectares of hyacinths, crocuses, daffodils, and other small bulb flowers bloom here.
Sometimes, late March already brings beautiful spring weather—can you picture yourself walking among pink or blue hyacinths?
What Colors Will We See During the Early Tour?
The colors of hyacinths are mostly pink, blue, and white, making them some of the most striking flowers in the fields. Daffodils are yellow and white, while crocuses come in blue, purple, and white.
What Else Will We Visit That Day?
To finish off the day, we’ll visit historic windmills that have stood since 1662. It’s incredible to see how the engineers of that time designed and built these colossal structures, enabling them to create new land and manage water effectively.
When Do the Tulip Fields Bloom?
The tulip fields typically start blooming in early April, around the 10th, but this depends on the weather. If the winter is warm, the flowers may bloom earlier. If March is cold, we might have to wait until late April, around the 20th, for the first tulips to appear.
But don’t worry! As soon as the first tulips bloom, we will include them in our Early Flower Tour. If the tulips bloom during the first week of April, we will definitely visit them on this tour.
